Overview

Ascension Seton in Austin, TX is seeking a Board Certified PA or Board Certified / Board Eligible APRN for the Trauma / Acute Care Surgery Department to join a Level I Trauma Center team. This is a non-operative focused role within the general surgery department with teaching and collaboration across residents, attendings, other APPs and medical students.

Responsibilities

• This is not an operative position; most operating is performed by residents at Dell Seton Medical Center UT.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care and floor management for traumatic and acute care surgical patients.
• Serve as continuity of care within the surgical team, including seeing new consults and floor patients, discharge planning, process improvement, and administrative tasks to improve workflow; opportunities for procedures if interested; you will work with two other APPs in this role.
• Teach and guide residents as they onboard and advance through training.
• Collaborate with attendings, residents, other APPs and medical students; demonstrate flexibility and leadership within a team environment.
• Additional day-to-day duties to be discussed during the interview process.
