Overview
Ascension Seton in Austin, TX is seeking a Board Certified PA or Board Certified / Board Eligible APRN for the Trauma / Acute Care Surgery Department to join a Level I Trauma Center team. This is a non-operative focused role within the general surgery department with teaching and collaboration across residents, attendings, other APPs and medical students.
Responsibilities
- This is not an operative position; most operating is performed by residents at Dell Seton Medical Center UT.
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care and floor management for traumatic and acute care surgical patients.
- Serve as continuity of care within the surgical team, including seeing new consults and floor patients, discharge planning, process improvement, and administrative tasks to improve workflow; opportunities for procedures if interested; you will work with two other APPs in this role.
- Teach and guide residents as they onboard and advance through training.
- Collaborate with attendings, residents, other APPs and medical students; demonstrate flexibility and leadership within a team environment.
- Additional day-to-day duties to be discussed during the interview process.
Position Highlights

Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required before hire date or job transfer date.Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required before hire date or job transfer date.BLS Provider preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).DEA credentialing preferred.Master's degree in Nursing required.Additional Information
