SUMMARY : Under direction, establishes and maintains relationships with those in the community to promote awareness of the Library while presenting programs for children, teens and adults.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

- Develops relationships with businesses, schools, community organizations and government agencies to identify and partner in programs of mutual interest.
- Identifies needs and develops programming plans to serve non-traditional or underserved populations.
- Develop, plan, schedule, and deliver offsite programs and events for all ages.
- Maintain a presence in the service area by serving on community advisory boards, attend neighborhood council and neighborhood improvement district meetings.
- Designs publications, print and electronic, which promote library services and resources.
- Schedules and ensures library presence at outreach events to include setup and breakdown.
- Coordinates community outreach events; gives presentations before organizations and groups as needed; attends offsite events on behalf of the library;
and facilitate offsite library card registration events.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends to correlate programming with community needs.
- Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
- Enters and maintains data; prepares, submits, and / or summarizes various routine and non-routine reports.
- Maintains accurate records and files related to work performed.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a team.
- Drives a motor vehicle to attend outreach events, meetings, and visit various work sites.
QUALIFICATIONS :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree or four (4) years of experience in marketing, communications, education or a closely related field; AND
- Two (2) years of program support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.
Additional Eligibility Requirements :
Must be willing to work various shifts depending upon the needs of the Library, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations :
Valid Florida driver’s license.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED :
Under Direction - Assignments and objectives are presented to incumbents at this level and established work processes are to be followed.
Incumbents have some flexibility in the selection of work methods, the timing of work processes, and the methods of completing tasks.
Supervision is periodic and is usually initiated by employee and / or when important problems, significant changes from past procedures, and policy implications are involved.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
Work is performed in the community, remotely, and in the library setting. Reliable transportation for traveling to other work locations in the community, and transporting materials and equipment related to programming and outreach services is required.
