POSITION SUMMARY\n\nThe Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and / or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan. The patient care process includes : \n

  • Assessment - an orderly process consisting of the identification, gathering and organization of subjective and objective data pertaining to the patient / family / significant other, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural.\n
  • Planning - an organized step in the process that consists of the identification of actual or potential problems and desired outcomes (goals) that result in a documented plan of care. The plan of care provides direction for the patient / family / significant other and interdisciplinary team.\n
  • Intervention - the specific interventions or orders that are implemented consistent with the plan of care and medical treatment plan.\n
  • Evaluation - a step in the process that involves determining the effectiveness of the interventions in achieving the plan of care and determining the conclusions concerning the achievement or lack of achievement of desired outcomes. The evaluation may initiate the need for reassessment and revisions to the problems, goals, plan of care, and interventions. This step provides for documentation of required actions. Based upon findings identified during assessment and reassessment : \n
  • Patients have problems identified and prioritized relative to biophysical, psychological, environmental, self-care, educational and social status.\n
  • Goals are identified consistent with the problem to provide direction for patient care and health promotion.\n
  • Education is consistent with the identified problem and associated goals and is seen as critical to creating an environment that promotes patient empowerment\n\nEmployee may be required to perform Limited Laboratory Services to include patient identification and preparation for specimen collection, processing samples for testing, performing required quality control testing and instrument maintenance and function checks, monitoring, recording and reporting tests results to clinicians to include critical values, and maintaining competency / certification of the aforementioned tasks and duties.\n\nLicensed and registered care providers responsible for utilizing the care process relative to their scope of practice and knowledge base, may document the assessment, plan, intervention and Evaluation. All patient care activities are administered according to standards, procedural guidelines and organizational policy.\n\nThe Registered Nurse actively supports performance improvement initiatives and provides leadership to other members of the patient care team. By participating in educational activities, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for continued professional and personal growth.\n\nEmergency Room : \n
  • City\n\n2 years medical / surgical and / or emergency room experience preferred.\n
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire or transfer\n
  • ATCN or TNCC is required within 24 months of hire or transfer\n
  • Minimum of 8 contact hours of education every 1 year in basic trauma assessment, intervention and stabilization;\n
  • Minimum of 8 contact hours of education every 1 year in basic stroke assessment, intervention and NIHSS to be completed by 6 months of hire and continuously maintained thereafter.\n
  • PALS or ENPC attained within 12 months of hire or transfer.\n
  • Current staff is required to obtain CPI by 6 / 30 / 24. New Hires or transfers; CPI required within 6 months of hire and continuously maintained after\n\nTrauma Bay\n\nTrauma experience required; 2 years preferred.\n\nACLS, PALS & ATCN at time of hire.\n\n3 Harmony Trauma / ICU\n\n2 years medical / surgical experience preferred; Critical care experience preferred.\n\nACLS Required at time of hire. ATCN required within 3 years from date of hire or transfer\n\nIntensive Care Unit (ICU) / (CTICU)\n\n2 years medical / surgical experience preferred; Critical care experience preferred.\n\nACLS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.\n\nCCRN preferred\n\nCardiovascular ICU(CVU)\n\n2 years critical care and\n\nCardiovascular ICU Experience Preferred.\n\nACLS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer\n\nCCRN preferred.\n\nHeart and Vascular Unit (HVU)\n\n2 Years Telemetry Experience Preferred.\n\nACLS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer\n\n3 Harbor (PCU)\n\n2 years telemetry\n\nExperience Preferred.\n\nACLS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer\n\n3 Pines / 3 Central\n\nMedical / Surgical Experience Preferred.\n\nACLS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer\n\n(1 south / 1 Meadow)\n\nMedical / Surgical Experience Preferred.\n\nACLS required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.\n\n2South / 2 Meadow,\n\n5Harmony\n\n7Harmony\n\n4 Michigan\n\nMedical / Surgical Experience Preferred.\n\n4Harmony\n\nMedical / Surgical Experience Preferred.\n\nACLS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer\n\nMed Surg / Cardiac / Stroke Care\n\n(2West / 2 Pines, 6 Harmony)\n\nMedical / Surgical Experience Preferred.\n\nACLS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer\n\nPre-Admission Testing (PAT)\n\nMedical / Surgical Experience Preferred.\n\nOperating Room\n\nMedical / Surgical and operating room experience preferred.Effective 1 / 1 / 25, all new OR team members must scrub and / or learn to scrub during their orientation within six months.\n\nACLS required by 12 / 31 / 24 for all RNs in the City OR.\n\nCNOR preferred.\n\nACLS preferred.\n\nPACU / Same Day Surgery / Recovery Room\n\nCritical Care Or PACU Experience Required.\n\nACLS required at time of hire or transfer\n\nPALS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.\n\nIntervention Radiology\n\n(radiation special procedure adm )\n\n2 years medical / surgical experience preferred; Interventional and Critical Care experience preferred.\n\nACLS at time of hire or transfer\n\nPALS required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.\n\nCath Lab\n\n(cath lab holding, Electrophysiology (EP))\n\nCritical care, emergency room, cath-lab or telemetry experience preferred;\n\nACLS at time of hire or transfer\n\nEndoscopy\n\n2 years medical / surgical experience preferred; Endoscopy, telemetry and critical care experience preferred.\n\nACLS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer\n\nPALS, CCRN, and CGRN preferred.\n\nRadiation\n\nOncology (cancer center institute)\n\nOncology Experience Preferred.\n\nOCN preferred.\n\nMedical Oncology Infusion Services\n\n(Cancer Center Institute)\n\nOncology Experience Preferred\n\nONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Competency Provider required within 6 mos. from date of hire or transfer.\n\nOCN preferred\n\nStructural Heart\n\n2 years' experience in cardiology\n\nAble to perform : \n\nPhlebotomy\n\nEKG\n\nIV insertion\n\nACLS required at time of hire or transfer\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n\nEDUCATION / LICENSE : \n
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.\n
  • Nurses hired without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year and completion within 3 years.\n
  • Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi state license required.\n
  • BLS required.\n
