Department / Position Details :

  • Performs an initial and ongoing assessment to determine the assigned patient's ongoing nursing care needs
  • Develops / reviews / revises and individualizes the plan of care to address the patient's nursing care needs for optimum patient care outcome
  • Implements interventions consistent with the established plan of care in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Evaluates patient care to determine response to care / interventions for optimal patient outcome
  • Performs technical skills competently and independently to assure patient safety
  • Maintains a professional behavior in attitudes, demeanor, interactions to achieve organization's mission
  • Initiates action to correct, prevent, and / or minimize risk(s) to the patient, family or hospital employees (i.e., falls, needle sticks, patient concerns)
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age / weight of the patients served
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings.
  • Attend mandatory educational programs.
  • Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures

Position Requirements :

Education :

  • Graduate from an accredited school / college of nursing.
  • Required Registered Nursing licensed in the State of Nebraska or eligible compact state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required

Experience :

  • 1-2 years perioperative, intraoperative, ICU or PACU experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of Operating Room Experience Required.

Physical :

This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment physical and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical with a drug screen, background check and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
