Financial Analyst
Purpose of Position With limited supervision thefinancial analyst is responsible for compiling and preparingfinancial reports (monthly forecasts quarterly current estimatesand tenyear plan);
providing meaningful and concise varianceanalysis of actual performance compared to plans forecasts andprior periods; and is the liaison to Operations’ regionmanagement and budget coordinators.
Provides Support to theFollowing Positions Operations management and staff Pricing andStorage staff Finance and accounting management and staff PrimaryJob Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) Liaisonwith various region and department management and staff and financeand accounting staff.
Compile and prepare financial reports : reporting cycles include monthly forecasts quarterly currentestimates and developing a tenyear financial plan each year.
Liaison with field administrative analysts for analysis as needed.Provide meaningful and concise variance analysis of actualperformance compared to plans forecasts and prior periods.
Performspecial projects and analysis as required. Provide technical inputto assist in development of project planning. Develop profit andloss statements cash flow statements manage accounts receivable forindependent profit centers and develop recommendations for cashflow and profit improvements.
Perform any additionalresponsibilities as requested or assigned. Performance Expectations(Key Success Factors) Perform responsibilities as directed withindetermined time frames and with a high degree of accuracy.
Provideaccurate input into the budget process and contribute to meetingthe actual targets. Establish and maintain effective workrelationships within the department and the Company.
Maintain theprofessional competence knowledge and skills necessary toeffectively complete responsibilities; enhance job knowledge andabilities by taking personal responsibility for professionaldevelopment and training.
Maintain sensitive and confidentialinformation regarding Company information. Attend work on a regularbasis and support the Company’s employee policies andprocedures including workplace safety rules.
Position RequirementsBachelor’s degree in accounting finance businessadministration or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Twoor more years’ experience in financial accountingfinancial planning finance public accounting or other relatedexperience.
Good understanding of accounting financial statementsto facilitate modeling. Excellent Excel skills needed for financialmodeling.
Working knowledge of Access Oracle Excel and PowerPoint.Ability to complete multiple tasks under time constraints. Abilityto ascertain how transaction affects all areas of financialstatements.
Ability to function well under pressure. Excellentcommunication skills (oral and written) including the ability tointeract well with all levels of management and team members.
Periodic overtime will be required especially during the planningprocess current estimate or during other critical times.
Effectiveanalytical and problemsolving skills. Ability to prioritize andhandle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
