Job Description :

Currently, we are seeking an Estimator to join our Estimating Team! The Estimator will be responsible for assessing sheet metal project costs and developing accurate estimates for construction, manufacturing, or other projects.

Building on their experience in estimating, they will play a key role in analyzing project requirements, sourcing costs, and preparing comprehensive budgets.

This position requires an understanding of estimating principles, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.

In this role, you will :

• Communicate in a professional manner with both clients, business partners, and colleagues.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimates.
• Review and interpret project documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts to develop a clear and detailed understanding of the project scope.
• Identifies discrepancies and gaps in the documents that must be filled in for a complete proposal.
• Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicits subcontractor and vendor pricing and ensures proper scope inclusion.
• Completes detailed labor and material takeoffs.
• Clearly and concisely articulates scope in verbal and written formats.
• Prepare a complete and detailed proposal with cost and qualifications.
• Attend scope meetings with clients to answer questions about the estimate and project.
• Efficiently teach and transfer the complete project scope to the operations team upon award.

A successful candidate will have :

• 2-5 years of experience in sheet metal estimating or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Demonstrated analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated understanding of HVAC systems, components, and installation methods.
• Experience with sheet metal estimating preferred.
• Software Experience Necessary :
• Microsoft Suite
• Bluebeam Review
• FastPipe, FastDuct or Other OnScreen Takeoff applications.
