Job DetailsEffective 11 / 30 / 24, IU Health will not allow IN RN’s to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9 / 9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11 / 30).
Pre-Screening Question : IMPORTANT- Please note, this unit requires nurses with Med Surg experience, no previous Behavior Health / Psych experience is required, however, nurses must be okay with this population to be submitted.
This unit is a secured medical unit. In order to be admitted to this unit, patients have a primary medical diagnosis but typically have a history of mental illness as well.
They will be expected to care for patients who are in alcohol withdrawal, have a history of IV drug use, dementia, aggressive behaviors, and anything that a med / surg unit would care for.
Periop / OR RN’s, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the 11 / 30 deadline.
