Legacy Behavioral Health Services is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community! We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to work in our West Park Residential Program in Valdosta, Georgia.
Under supervision Direct Support Professionals will provide training and support services to persons with developmental disabilities in a 24 / 7 community residential program.
Responsibilities include delivering skills training in daily living and community integration as outlined by the Individual Service Plan, maintaining a clean and sanitary home environment to meet CARF safety regulations, and assisting in coordinating transportation for persons served.
Teamwork with fellow staff members is essential to ensure the highest quality of IDD services. Proficiency in computer skills is required.
Additionally, the position requires monitoring and documenting persons served progress in treatment. Flexibility to work varying hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

This position requires :
- High school diploma / GED; required
- Valid GA driver's license with less than 5 points.
- CPR / First Aid certification or ability to obtain CPR Certification.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication.
- Excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Good documentation skills.
- Proficient in English language.
- Knowledge of Person-centered approach.
- Computer experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong customer service skills.

Working Conditions :
Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations.
May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and / or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in BHSGA or personal vehicle.
Work Environment : Work is normally performed in an office environment. Employees in this position may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from persons served or the working environment.

Physical Demands : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job : the physical demands include but are not limited to good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard.
The position requires prolonged periods of sitting and have the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 45 pounds.
