Neurology Consultant - MD or DO

Overview

The Neurology Consultant will render in-patient services at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center (Kingsboro PC) campus located at 681 Clarkson Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11203. The consultant agrees to provide Neurology Consultation services to the in-patients of Kingsboro PC. These services shall be rendered through :

Responsibilities

• Credentialing & Privileging at Kingsboro PC as per MSO guidelines.
• Scheduled patient clinic at Kingsboro PC 8 hours / month (4 hours every other week x 2).
• Conduct neurological exams and assessments on patients with concerns including seizure disorder, dementia, neurological deficits. Advise on further workup and assess those results to form recommendation for treatment of neurological concerns. Provide regular recommendations about patient medications and dosage adjustments to manage the condition.
• Provide medication review with exam to address residual symptoms or symptom progression, recommend tests to order and interpret results.
• Direct contact between Medical Clinic Personnel and scheduled patients.
• Consultation with referring prescriber as clinically indicated.
• Consult report : Information on results of evaluation and assessment of patients will be given in clear concise form and provide detailed information on the patient. These summaries will be written so that a person unfamiliar with the patient will be able to understand the patient as it relates to gynecology including past treatment goals for present phase of treatment and any specific methods that work best with the patient including referral for medical and other professional attention as clinically indicated. Evaluations will conform to the format now in use at Kingsboro PC.
• Participation in trainings required for a consultant at Kingsboro PC.
• Any other assigned duties as need to comply with applicable Federal and State regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

MD or DO degree, have passed medical licensing exams and be licensed to practice medicine in NY. Have completed a neurology residency.
