Lead Afternoon Bookstore Clerk

This is a part-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Manager of Auxiliary Operations and is located on JWCC's main campus in Quincy, Illinois. Position begins immediately.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Afternoon Lead Bookstore Clerk serves as a primary customer service representative for the JWCC Bookstore and works as part of the bookstore team to provide quality service to all JWCC stakeholders. This clerk, in tandem with their morning counterpart, serves as the on-site expert in handling transactions for Student Financial Aid, online order processing, order shipping and receiving, POS functions, store opening / closing procedures, and general tasks required for daily operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help customers in store, over the phone, through email, and via the online store portal with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.
• Be able to handle various requests and be solution oriented.
• Work the bookstore POS registers during business hours processing customer transactions.
• Leads the student bookstore clerks in ensuring procedures are followed and address is a resource for questions as they arise.
• Ensure daily clerk tasks are completed – such as cleaning, restocking, straightening / folding of merchandise, rotation of food product, filing, or other duties as assigned.
• Close the store at the end of shift which includes :

Working alongside student clerks to count the POS registers and complete paperwork.
