Position Title Building Services - Custodian Position Type Staff FTE 1.0
General Employment Period May 1 April 30
General Work Schedule (days of week) Monday thru Friday, occasional weekends
General shift hours 5am-1 : 30pm, with occasional variances
Yes Job Summary / Basic Function - snow / ice removal using ice melt, snow blowers and shoveling
- Full range of cleaning duties including, but are not limited to : Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets
- Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures and equipment
- Clean and sanitize rest room facilities and related fixtures including drinking fountains, rest room sinks, urinals and toilets;
replenish supplies in restrooms
- Wash windows, mirrors and walls
- Empty, clean and sanitize waste receptacles
- Move and arrange furniture and equipment as needed
- Replace lights and adjust shade and blinds
- Climb ladders and stairs on a regular basis
- Identify and report building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities
- Assist in other projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications - Ability to lift, pull, push, climb, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be a self starter, dependable, and able to work independently.
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to read, write, and interpret written and verbal instructions, and demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision.
