Essential Job Functions
Client Services
Provides client support on all HR matters, including but not limited to :
consultation on compensation, leaves of absence, benefits and payroll administration, policies, onboarding, off-boarding, recruiting, performance management, and employee relations.
Ensure assigned clients remain compliant with local, state, and federal laws.
Serves as HR contact for client stakeholders, client internal HR team and / or clients’ employees to answer questions regarding, among other things, policy, benefits, and payroll compliance.
Assess client’s organization, current processes, systems, and growth operations and desired future state. Provide recommended actions to ensure compliance and automation.
Formulate strategic and practical plans to address human resources matters.
Assist in the development and integration of policies, including state variations.
Implement, maintain, and / or automate data within HR technology.
Assist in establishing control systems for compliance for HR policies and practices.
Develops, prepares, and facilitates training content for original and updated webinars.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Other Duties
Interprets client contracts and management of billable work with responsibility to track and properly report time, identifies supplemental services and opportunity for additional billable work.
Keeps internal and external management advised of potential problem areas and recommends / implements solutions as appropriate.
Effectively manages critical relationships with client representatives including employees, management, and vendors to ensure overall client satisfaction.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks;
participating in professional societies.
Ability to travel locally to client and / or OneDigital sites within the Richmond and / or Charlottesville region is preferred.
Some overnight travel may be required.
Experience & Education :
Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Advanced degree in business, human resources, or equivalent a plus, but not required.
At least eight (8) years of professional HR experience, with focus on employment-related compliance knowledge.
In-depth knowledge of HR principles, functions, methods and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Superior verbal / written skills and presentation skills.
Good punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail a must.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
Course work / seminar attendance in HR, Payroll and Benefit compliance and strategies.
Advanced working knowledge of state and federal regulations i.e. COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, PDL, PFL, CFRA, ADA, ACA.
Certifications related to HR preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or equivalent)
Certifications related to Payroll or Benefits (FPC, CPP, CEBS) a plus, but not required.
Flexibility to support various industries and client sizes.
Computer & Equipment Skills
Microsoft Office Suite experience in all applications, including Teams
Previous experience and comfortability facilitating meetings within virtual meeting platforms
Must have experience or the ability to learn all forms of HR Management Systems, included but not limited to HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems, Benefits and Payroll systems.
