We are seeking a talented and experienced ML / AI engineer to join our engineering team in San Mateo. Our engineering team is responsible for building foundational LLM models to improve the efficiency and accuracy of processing workplace benefits information.
What You Get to Do :
As an AI / ML Engineer, you will be responsible for augmenting and fine-tuning existing LLMs that will be applied to a diverse range of tasks and scenarios.
This includes augmenting models capable of understanding and generating human language, extracting valuable insights from complex data.
Required Experience :
- 8+ years of industry experience doing end-to-end ML development on a machine learning team and bringing ML models to production
- Familiarity with the setup and use of various open source LLM foundation models.
- Experience with creating and using vector databases for data storage and retrieval.
- Familiarity with LLM architecture patterns such as RAG and FLARE.
- Hands on experience with LLM Pretraining, LLM fine-tuning, RLHF, distillation, parameter-efficient methods like LoRA, quantization
- Experience with observability, monitoring, debugging, and performance evaluation for LLM training / inference systems.
- Proficiency in Python or JavaScript and experience with commonly used ML frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field is required

The starting annual base pay salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 with final salary determined by your unique skills, experience and education.
