Description :

The Test Supervisor leads the testing and troubleshooting of electrical control and power distribution equipment during final assembly. This role ensures products meet technical specifications, comply with industry standards, and function reliably before client delivery. The supervisor also manages and develops a small team of technicians, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity standards are consistently met.

Schedule : Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm | Must be available to work occasional Saturdays + overtime

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Manage, schedule, and mentor a team of 3–5 test technicians.
  • Train and guide staff in testing, troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure team focus on high-value work.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair low- and medium-voltage switchgear and custom electrical equipment.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) according to IEEE, ANSI, and ABS standards.
  • Verify electrical components operate correctly using HIPOT, multimeters, and other testing tools.
  • Document findings, resolve non-conformances, and ensure products meet technical schematics and quality standards.

    • Client Interaction & Collaboration

  • Support client witness testing, design verification, and product demonstrations.
  • Provide technical guidance to field service teams and other departments.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and vendors.

    • Safety & Process Improvement

  • Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and 5S standards.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and reliability.

    • What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED, Required.
  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, Preferred.

    • Experience

  • 5+ years of electrical equipment testing using IEEE or ANSI standards, Required.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week with required overtime.
  • 3+ years supervising a technical or manufacturing team, Preferred.
  • Experience with switchgear or power distribution equipment, Preferred.

    • Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced troubleshooting and testing skills on electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and engineering principles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with testing tools (multimeters, insulation testers, secondary injection units) and basic programming.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Attention to detail, safety-focused, and ability to mentor team members effectively.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting.
  • Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and near vision for inspections.
