The Job :

The Product Manager focuses on mastering product execution, always keeping the customer at the forefront. The Product Manager uses customer insights and analytics to evaluate trade-offs, including customer value, business value, and return on investment.

This position collaborates with development teams and business leaders to assess risks and opportunities to inform strategy and business goals.

The Product Manager contributes to Buildertrend initiatives by aligning teams toward our vision, creating urgency around initiatives and customer outcomes.

What You Will Do :

  • Prioritize and resolve technical, functional, and business quality issues as part of a cross-functional team with developers, designers, and quality assurance.
  • Develop an extensive knowledge of the platform and understand when to leverage team members.
  • Communicate vision for the domain with key outcomes and clear success criteria that contributes to achieving product vision and goals.

Include internal audiences to influence and seek out feedback. Communicate externally to help shape how the product works and positively impacts our users, customers, and business partners.

  • Drive meaningful outcomes for the business by connecting product functionality and goals to team and company strategic objectives.
  • Communicate with the team and drive product delivery by gathering requirements, defining functionality, and setting goals in a clear, actionable format.
  • Work closely with your immediate team (Designers, Developers, Quality Assurance, and other roles) to quickly, iteratively, and effectively turn good specifications into working products.
  • Collaborate with design partners to understand and guide not how the experience looks but how the user journeys through the application.
  • Ensure internal stakeholders are aligned with your area of ownership and work with those stakeholders to factor their perspective & requirements into product decisions.
  • Work with in-house experts to uncover insights and identify additional tracking needs to analyze customer behavior and measure success.
  • Leverage our partners in data science and operations to help technically convert our data into actionable knowledge.
  • Leverage user feedback in all forms (from casual conversations to formal studies) to understand how users engage with the product, make better decisions, and drive meaningful outcomes for the business.

Who You Are and What You Need :

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • At least 3 years of Product Management Experience required.
  • Ability to deliver software products, and manage product and sprint backlogs.
  • Demonstrates experience with agile development processes and frequent product releases.
  • Demonstrates experience using both qualitative and quantitative data to derive user insights.
  • Displays strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to create delightful user experiences focused on delivering customer-centric outcomes.
  • Ability to measure user behavior and make data-informed decisions; demonstrates experience with product analytics tools and data analytics as well.
  • Maintains strong execution and drives across multiple fronts; self-starter, speed-oriented, comfortable making decisions and running with them.
  • Displays a strong desire to grow and willingness to contribute to team knowledge growth.
  • Displays an interest in multi-team efforts in the future or present.
