We are looking for a dedicated and vigilant Building Security Guard to join our team at Target Center, home of the MN Timberwolves and MN Lynx.

Job Summary

The Building Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of Target Center's patrons, employees, and assets. This role involves maintaining a visible presence, conducting regular patrols, responding to security incidents, monitoring surveillance equipment, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle stressful situations with composure, and demonstrate strong communication and observational skills.

Essential Functions

• Maintain 24-hour security of the interior and exterior of the building.
• Conduct regular patrols of the building and grounds to detect and deter unauthorized activity or safety hazards.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and other equipment to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
• Operate and maintain various surveillance tools and technology efficiently.
• Respond to all safety and security calls, incidents, and emergencies in a professional and timely manner.
• Take appropriate action in response to incidents, including diffusing disturbances, providing assistance, and contacting law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Interact with Target Center patrons, vendors, and employees in a courteous and professional manner, providing assistance and information as required.
• Control access to the building, verifying credentials and directing vendors & visitors.
• Identify and report any suspicious activities or security breaches promptly.
• Prepare detailed incident reports, documenting observations and actions taken.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and security teams when necessary.
• Keep detailed records and logs of all surveillance activities and incidents.
• Review, save and analyze footage to assist in investigations and legal proceedings.
• Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and company policies related to surveillance.
• Perform regular audits of the surveillance systems and recommend improvements.
• Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities within the guidelines and deadlines set by the Security Manager.
• Comply with and adhere to the department's performance, conduct, and attendance standards.
• Exhibit exemplary conduct and appearance while on duty.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
