Memco Solutions is looking for our next Commercial Piping Journeyman in Atlanta, Ga!
- Pay : $25 - $30 based on experience
- Schedule : Mon - Fri ; some Sat & 8+ hour days
As a Pipeline Journeyman, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the construction and maintenance of pipelines within various projects.
You will lead a team of workers, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and timelines.
This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of pipeline construction techniques, and a commitment to upholding industry standards for safety and quality.
Responsibilities :
- Leadership and Supervision :
- Lead a team of pipeline workers, including equipment operators, welders, and laborers, to ensure that tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
- Provide clear instructions, guidance, and support to crew members, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and address any issues or concerns that arise.
- Project Coordination :
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement project plans and schedules.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment needed for pipeline construction.
- Oversee the allocation of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Safety and Compliance :
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all crew members and adherence to industry regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance among all team members, emphasizing the importance of following established safety protocols at all times.
- Quality Assurance :
- Monitor the quality of work performed by crew members, ensuring that all construction activities meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of pipeline construction, identifying and addressing any issues or deficiencies promptly.
- Implement corrective measures and quality improvement initiatives as needed to maintain high standards of workmanship and reliability.
- Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work progress, materials usage, equipment inspections, and safety incidents.
- Prepare regular reports and updates for project managers and other stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and achievements.
- Ensure that all relevant documentation, including permits, licenses, and compliance certificates, is obtained and maintained throughout the duration of the project.
Qualifications :
- MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE PROPER IDENTIFICAITON, PASS A 5 PANEL DRUG TEST, AND PROVIDE PROOF OF A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE.
- Proven experience in pipeline construction, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, including previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline construction techniques, equipment, and materials, as well as familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, with a thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures and the ability to enforce compliance among crew members.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Valid driver's license and any other required certifications or licenses for operating heavy equipment or handling hazardous materials.
Education :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional training or certification in pipeline construction, project management, or related fields preferred.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform other physically demanding tasks as needed.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
