TEKsystems is seeking a Technical Project Manager for a large non-profit organization to drive the success of a mission driven project portfolio.
The company is based out of California but can sit 100% remote in the following states Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, California.
Duration : 3-6 months (dependent on workload can potentially convert full time)
Must be US Citizen with ability to work on W2 employment (no sponsorship)
Description
In this role, you’ll work closely with the Leadership Team define project scope, design a solution that meets needs and execute its implementation.
You will be a part of a maturing organization, with the ability to influence the way we select, develop, and implement projects.
You will be working closely with business and technical leaders to assess and improve existing operational workflows, develop tools and features aimed at furthering our mission of advancing Open Science and further our mission.
Responsibilities
- Translate ambiguous project proposals into project scope, goals and deliverables
- Execute projects using project management lifecycle standards set by the PMO
- Facilitate active project team discussions to add project management perspective to the project team.
- Facilitate solution design discussions and keep the project team on scope and schedule
- Ability to identify, mitigate and resolve risks
- Keep team on track for project delivery, manage issues, conflicts, sponsor and stakeholder communications.
- Conduct resource analysis and develop project plans using capacity management and project planning tools.
- Proactively resolve conflict between people and if needed escalate appropriately.
- Work with a diverse mix of business areas including marketing, product, technology and facilities to manage assigned projects that meet defined objectives.
- Work with project teams to create, execute, and as needed, revise project work plans and schedules.
- Ensure project documents (including project charter, scope, resourcing, communication and risk management) plans are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Resolve and / or escalate project issues in a timely fashion.

1) 4+ years prior technical and process project / program management experience.
2) Experience managing technical and non-technical project teams.
EG - exp. working with software engineers, database engs., SME, business leads, analytical, and salesforce exp.
3) Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary software products and application development projects.
4) Proven track record of applying project management methodology to create project plans and execution strategies.
Fully remote. Team is spread out. 11am-3pm EST is prime work hours.

Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years prior technical and process project / program management experience.
- Experience in formulating and testing scope and value assumptions
- Ability to probe teams for information to arrive at accurate project health assessment
- Must be able to foresee risks and issues and actively work to resolve them.
- Experience managing technical and non-technical project teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary software products and application development projects.
- Experience implementing enterprise wide SaaS solutions
- Proven track record of applying project management methodology to create project plans and execution strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects to completion on-time and at budget.
- Excellent organizational and personal time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly efficient, organized and flexible. High level of maturity and confidence interacting with senior staff and setting project deliverables.
