Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position in New Jersey with current BLS and ACLS certifications and at least one year of cardiac cath lab experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital Cardiac Cath Lab setting

Covers a multimodality lab including diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures

Patient population consists of adults and geriatrics

Day shift schedule : four 10-hour shifts from 7 : 00 to 17 : 00

Call required : five weekday overnight calls from 18 : 00 to 07 : 00 and two 24-hour weekend calls, details negotiable in interview

Procedures include pulmonary embolization, IV therapy, EKG / ECG, cardioversion, sheath removal, vascular closure systems, and circulating cases

Medication system used : Pyxis

Charting with Epic (required); also utilizes Philips documentation system

Responsibilities include monitoring procedural sedation, medication management, and supporting interventional teams

Testing on unit-based competencies, medications, and EKG with an 80% passing score required; only one attempt permitted

Green scrubs are provided and must be worn on shift

RTLS badge required; loss or failure to return badge incurs a fee

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

Unit covers primarily adults and geriatric patients with a focus on interventional cardiac care

Requirements

Active NJ or Compact RN license required at the time of consideration

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum of one year recent cardiac cath lab RN experience required

Preferred experience in Cath Lab, Endovascular, or Interventional Radiology

NIH or CCS RCIS certifications preferred

Experience and competency in procedural sedation, dysrhythmia management, and radiation and laser safety required

References and background check required

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including booster
