Job description

Accura Health is looking for an experienced full - time office Medical Administrative Assistant with at least 3 years (required) in primary care.

Welcoming and attentive to the needs of all patients and creates a positive, pro-active patient experience by managing expectations while demonstrating compassion and respect.

Functions as a member of the health care team by assisting in the delivery of patient-focused care by demonstrating excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
  • Triage and process messages from patients to team
  • Schedule appointments and proactive outreach to support patients
  • Handle correspondence and appropriate paperwork as needed
  • Keeping track of medical records and charts
  • Participate in staff meetings
  • Follow up on visits, referrals, etc.
  • Logging medical and patient information into electronic data base
  • Sending labs and any diagnostic testing to the Clinicians
  • Ordering Supplies
  • Other administrative related duties as assigned

Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to)

  • Handling phone inquiries and patient registration
  • Educating patients about medication, special diets, and conditions
  • Authorizing prescription refills as directed
  • Proper documentation in EMR
  • Medical Inventory management
  • other clinical duties as assigned

Requirements :

  • CMA, MA, Medical Assistant- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program and certified as a Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or registered as a Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • Extremely efficient, organized, and resourceful; must also be flexible and able to function well in a fast-paced environment with great interpersonal skills
  • EMR experience required
  • Willingness to cross train, learn, and expand skills is a must
  • Demonstrated communication and customer service skills; must have excellent listening and communication skills
  • Computer literate with a 40+ words per minute typing speed expected
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years in the field, a plus
  • Fluent in Spanish, a plus
