Psychiatric Nurse
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and support to our patients with mental health and behavioral challenges.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatments.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, 5150 laws, patient rights, and accreditation requirements.
- Manage and de-escalate stressful situations with patients exhibiting challenging behaviors.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
Qualifications :
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Active RN License issued by the State of California.
- Demonstrates competencies and knowledge in mental / behavioral health.
- Basic knowledge of mental healthcare regulations, 5150 laws, patient rights, and accreditation required.
- Knowledge of DSM-5 psychiatric diagnosis and plan of care / treatment; antipsychotic, anti-anxiety, mood stabilizers, antidepressants, and other applicable psychiatric medications.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and work with patients who may have challenging behaviors.
- Ability to critically handle unexpected challenges in a psychiatric setting and create a plausible solution in a team-centered environment.
- Ability to speak, read, and write legibly in English.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- ANCC Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHN).
- Previous working experience in a mental health-focused setting.
