SUMMARY :
The Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS) Coordinator assumes responsibility for all aspects of the ECLS program including general operations, scheduling, quality monitoring, competency validation and compliance with regulatory and Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) standards.
In collaboration with Chief Perfusionist, The ECLS Coordinator works closely with the ECLS Specialists, Perfusionists, Physicians, Nurses, and Respiratory Therapists within the critical care areas from the time a
patient is placed on ECLS until they are removed from ECLS. The ECLS Coordinator collaborates with the ECLS Medical Director to coordinate the educational component of the ECLS program which covers all aspects of orientation, continuing education, and clinical competency validation, in accordance with international ELSO guidelines;
ensures that policies and procedures, order sets, educational materials, and data monitoring / performance improvement initiatives are up to date and in compliance with ELSO guidelines and recommendations.
Job Requirements
Experience :
- One of the following combinations of experience are required : Minimum 5 years neonatal, pediatric or adult intensive care registered nurse or respiratory therapist AND 2 years ICU experience with ECLS experience required Minimum 5 years certified perfusionist, including neonatal and pediatric cases AND 2 years’ experience in the application of ECLS in the ICU setting required
- Demonstrated organizational, leadership, technical, administrative and teaching skills
Education / Licenses / Certifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field required
- Either an active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Cardiac Perfusionist (CCP) required
POSITION DETAILS : Part Time, day shift (days will vary), 4 x 10-hour shifts per 2-week pay period
PAY RANGE : $53.00 - $78.00
