Summary :
The Consultant will provide expert advice and guidance on various IT projects and initiatives at the NLM, leveraging their extensive experience to help the NLM make informed decisions and achieve its strategic goals.
The consultant will work closely with NLM leadership and project teams to assess current systems, identify areas for improvement, and recommend and implement effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assess current IT systems and processes, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for optimization.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions that align with the NLM's strategic objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Develop and implement IT strategies and plans, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices and support the NLM's mission.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, proactively identifying opportunities to leverage new solutions to enhance the NLM's IT capabilities.
Qualifications :
- Education : Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, information systems, or engineering.
- Experience : Extensive experience (minimum of 10 years) in IT consulting, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects for government and / or healthcare organizations.
Demonstrated experience in working on projects of similar size and scope to those outlined in the Statement of Work.
- Skillsets :
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex IT environments and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders and presenting complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor project teams and drive projects to successful completion.
- Deep understanding of IT best practices, industry standards, and emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with government regulations and compliance requirements, particularly in the healthcare sector.
Preferred Certifications :
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
- ITIL Expert or equivalent.
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
Clearance Requirements :
Public Trust - Moderate Risk. Candidates will be required to undergo a background investigation.
