Senior Data Analyst - Financial Crimes Analytics (Remote)

Overview :

This position is responsible for gathering, organizing, and analyzing data sets of varying sizes and complexities using appropriate techniques including statistical and machine learning techniques and tools, to understand data quality and help implement necessary programs that will ensure AML compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Bank policies that assist management with making informed business decisions.

This position is responsible for developing and implementing key automation using SAS / SQL and other software tools, business intelligence, and data visualization deliverables to support and promote effective and efficient coverage of Business Units' control environments.

Serves as a subject matter expert and may mentor other staff members or serve in a team lead role.

This position can work remote from anywhere within the United States.

Responsibilities :

Data Analysis - Gathers, organizes, and sorts data to develop complex data models for the department, business unit staff, and other stakeholders.

Accesses structured and unstructured systems across the organization, utilizing coding efforts where needed to meet testing requirements.

Provides effective and timely communications on findings. Evaluates department strategies to develop and implement sound data analysis processes and results for staff, management, and other stakeholders.

Automated Solutions Build and maintain automated solutions using appropriate data that will help address compliance needs as defined by regulators, auditors, model risk management etc.

Additional expectations including effective documentation justifying the effectiveness and efficiency of processes and procedures.

Reporting - Analyzes and produces timely reports for senior management and other stakeholders regarding risks, trends, patterns, and exceptions.

Develops business intelligence / data visualization solutions that appropriately represent findings as needed. Assists senior management with compiling, preparing, and completing of committee presentations, annual audit plan, and risk assessments.

Business Support - Identifies, prioritizes, develops, documents, and implements strategic-use cases to support data analysis outcomes, processes, and other requirements.

Responsible for all components of project execution and stakeholder engagement. Works across departments and with functional management as needed to recommend timelines and set expectations.

Operational Support - Provides support to the department and senior staff regarding technical inquiries serving as a subject matter expert.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Banking, financial or other directly related industry OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Banking, financial or other directly related industry

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of AML Risks and Practices : Deep experience in working with investigators, data scientists and Subject Matter Experts in areas including but not limited to AML, KYC, Sanctions, OFAC etc.

Preferred Area of Study : Mathematics, statistics, computer science, information management

Communication Skills : Ability to present appropriately to audiences with varying backgrounds, document in precise and concise fashion

Skill(s) : Spreadsheet and database knowledge, Able to analyze and visualize large sets of data, Able to create and apply accurate algorithms to datasets to identify solutions, Knowledge of programming languages including but not limited to SAS, SQL, Oracle, R, MATLAB, Python, Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages / applications used to analyze data sets, technical proficiency in Tableau

The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $112,000 to $175,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay.
