POSITION SUMMARY : The PrimaryCare Practical Clinician will work collaboratively with physicians,staff and other health care professionals to provide a smoothhealth care continuum for all patients within the clinic setting.
The clinician is an integral member of the clinic care team whoworks to ensure safety, best practice and high quality standards ofcare are maintained.
The clinician assists with coordinatingpatient wellness and chronic illness management for the clinic. Theclinician works with the clinic manager to supervise the deliveryof clinical care.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION : Graduate of anaccredited program in Licensed Practical Nursing
CERTIFICATION / LICENSES : Licensed by State of New Mexico as an LPN. BLS Certification issuedthrough America Heart Association required, or within 2 weeks ofhire date.
SKILLS :
- Knowledge of andpractical use of good business English, spelling, arithmetic,practices
- Ability to communicate effectivelyusing written and verbal skills
- Demonstrateseffective teaching techniques, applying adult learningprinciples
- Demonstrates the ability tocoordinate and implement appropriate educational materials forpatients and their support system
EXPERIENCE : One yearexperience working as a nurse in a clinical setting.
NATURE OFSUPERVISION :
Responsible to : Director ofPrimary Care Services and Clinic Manager
Inconjunction with clinic leadership :
- Supervises daily activities of medical assistants and PCA's inprimary care clinic setting
- In conjunctionwith clinic leadership and educator assists with establishing andmaintaining clinical staff competency
- Ensuresprovision of uninterrupted clinical care
- Provides clinical observations to manager for annual performanceevaluations of clinical staff

- Bloodborne pathogen : A Works in a clean, well-lighted, smoke freeenvironment
- Bloodbornepathogen : B Ifinvolved in clinical contact
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Requires full range of body motion includinghandling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity andeye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extensiveperiods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighting upto 50 pounds.
Requires working under stressful conditions orworking irregular hours. Frequent exposure to bodily fluids,communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation,medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinicenvironment.
