Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY
This role will design, develop, automate, and maintain the company's Power BI Dashboards used by individual users, managers, leadership team, and Executive Staff to make data-driven decisions for Goodwill San Antonio.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead in the design and development of reports, data visualizations, dashboards, and other outputs using Power BI.
- Provide training and support to departments in the day-to-day use of Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques.
- Analyze business requirements to determine appropriate data needs and reporting solution.
- Perform data profiling to validate business requirements, key assumptions, and identify potential data or process gaps.
- Perform data analysis to identify and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Provide data education to key business groups to raise awareness of what information is readily available in in the data warehouse for analysis.
- Acquire data from various internal and external sources and import into data warehouse.
- Monitor data quality / integrity and work with internal stakeholders to identify and correct data quality / integrity issues.
- Effectively communicate ideas, plans, and results through presentations and written reports.
- Participate in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in computer science, math, statistics, or equivalent technical field.
- 1-3 years’ experience working in information technology and / or data analytics.
- 2+ years’ experience writing, maintaining, and debugging SQL queries (Intermediate level skills).
- 1+ years of experience with Power BI.
- Knowledge of ETL and data warehouse processes.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in manipulating and analyzing large public and proprietary business, financial and demographic datasets.
Ability to work successfully with diverse groups of team members and external entities.
- Proficient in visualizing, designing, and developing reports in business intelligence tools, preferably Power BI.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to communicate effectively on the telephone, virtually, and via e-mail.
- Ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in core MS Office Professional Tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail as necessary to produce high quality work.
- Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation, and pass any required federal, state, municipality, and / or customer-specific background checks.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
