Athletic Administration Graduate Assistant Positions (3)
Northwest Nazarene University, which competes at the NCAA DII level, is seeking THREE Athletic Administration Graduate Assistants to work in our growing Department.
These are part-time positions that report to various Athletic Administrators.
Compliance Graduate Assistant
- Assist with the monitoring of NCAA academic, amateurism, eligibility, financial aid, countable athletic activity, recruiting, and camps and clinics rules
- Utilize NCAA Compliance Assistant and compliance software for documentation
- Provide education and interpretation of NCAA rules, policies and regulations for students, coaches, and athletic staff
- Assist with reporting of information required by the NCAA and GNAC
- Assist with the preparation of NCAA eligibility lists, national letters of intent, financial aid agreements, and waivers
Facilities and Events Graduate Assistant
- Assist in the execution of events, games, rentals, practices and sponsorships
- Assist in coordinating, scheduling, and supervising all athletics facilities for practices, athletic contests, internal University use and external rentals
- Assist with maintaining NNU athletics facilities in good working order, including identifying needed repairs and maintenance, submitting and following through on work orders, and acting as a liaison with the NNU facilities contractor
- Coordinate with the Athletic operations team on game-day atmosphere, including in-game promotions and increasing game attendance by students, faculty and staff, alumni, and the community
- This position works frequent nights and weekends throughout the academic year, with responsibilities and associated work shifts changing with sports seasons
Marketing and Development Graduate Assistant
- Assist with the cultivation, solicitation, and management of NNU Athletics corporate sponsorships
- Assist with the develop and implementation of game day promotions that highlight relationships with area businesses, community members, and strategic partners
- Assist with revenue generation activities, including fundraising for the Department and individual programs
- Assist with the annual NNU Athletics golf tournament, student-athlete awards banquet, Hall of Fame ceremony, and Athletics Give Day
- Regularly collaborate and partner with other University offices including University Advancement, Marketing, Admissions, Alumni Office, and the Office of Mission and Ministry, to coordinate and maximize opportunities to promote, brand, and fundraise for NNU Athletics
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree Acceptance into NNU’s Graduate School High motivation and commitment to the University, organizational skills, the ability to self-start, be calm under pressure, meet deadlines, work without direct supervision, multi-task, problem solve, and relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances The University requires that all staff members be Christians (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU and be willing to help advance the spiritual goals of the University.
