Responsibilities
The Nuclear Safety Cross Check Analysis (NSCCA) program supports the Air Force's critical mission of ensuring the safety of nuclear weapon systems.
We perform rigorous analysis and testing of nuclear weapon system software to ensure the system cannot violate the DoD Nuclear Surety standards.
Our Nuclear Safety Cross Check Analysis (NSCCA) program is seeking a Senior Associate Systems Engineer to join their diverse team in Layton, UT.
Location : On-site in Layton, UT
In this role, you will :
- Perform assessments of systems, reviewing software with a focus on finding flaws and suggesting possible improvements.
- Perform code examination, analysis, and testing.
- May work with system simulators and statistical analysis.
- Review and analyze systems, platforms, applications, and their interfaces to quickly acquire system knowledge to understand the design and functionality.
- Identify the hardware and software portions of systems for safety and mission critical functionality.
- Perform detailed evaluation of embedded software to verify that software requirements are correctly implemented in the design and code of embedded computers and that the resulting code does not contain embedded safety hazards.
- Identify requirements, design, and test procedures that will ensure the system will perform as expected.
- Document analysis performed with resulting anomalies identified.
- Present findings to peers, customers, and management.
Qualifications
Required :
- Bachelor of Science (STEM) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Math, or Physics with 2 years of relevant experience or Masters of Science or PhD (STEM) degree with relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to identify logic errors, code inconsistencies and inefficiencies, safety hazards associated with software and / or hardware design languages, code design, and requirement specifications.
- Technical writing experience and the ability to write technically and grammatically correct documentation.
- Must be self-directed and able to work independently and with a team.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain / maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
Preferred :
- 3 years' experience in software testing, software safety analysis, or related technical field.
- Experience with Air Force Safety Manuals, Instructions, and Processes
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming languages
- Experience with Integrated Development Environments
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo.
- Experience with IBM DOORS.

Target Salary Range
$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
