Job Title
Responsible for financial analysis and a broad range of financial management activities for Palm Tran.
Work involves performing detailed financial management analyses, designing and improving financial and / or management systems, reviewing or preparing budget requests, preparing forecasts of revenues or expenses, evaluating payments and issuing financial reports. The position has some supervisory responsibility for clerical or support staff.
Work is performed within the established rules set forth by Palm Tran, federal, state, and local authorities, and conducted with the utmost regard for the safety of the passengers, the public and all equipment.
Reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial data for various activities and projects, including assessing the reasonableness and feasibility of financial proposals.
Maintains accurate budget records and supports budget-related inquiries and processes, including supervising support staff on the purchase requisition process.
Generate reports and address discrepancies with procurement team to ensure adherence to budgetary limits.
Facilitates budget transfers, prepares documentation, and reconciles transfers as necessary.
Ensures timely processing of payments by assisting co-workers with invoice processing.
Verifies and approves petty cash transactions; maintains accurate records; ensures compliance with organizational policies.
Prepares periodic reports on Section performance, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Maintains and updates operational guides; provides assistance to staff members as needed.
Assists with travel and reimbursement processes ensuring adherence to organizational policies.
Coordinates photocopier invoices to ensure complete and timely payment.
Provides backup support by cross-training in financial support functions ensuring operational continuity.
Performs related work as required and / or assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business / Public Administration, or a related field; with two (2) years of professional experience in governmental accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial data analytics or financial analysis.
Equivalency : MBA / MPA from an accredited college or university with one (1) year of experience as listed above.
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; and four (4) years of experience as listed above.
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification (GED); and six (6) years of experience as listed above.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
Preferences
Experience in governmental and financial analysis.
