As a Special Education Teacher you ll play a pivotal role in fostering a structured positive learning space that encourages independence and personal growth for students with disabilities.
Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that align with each student s unique learning needs and goals and regularly assessing their progress to tailor strategies accordingly.
With a focus on adapting curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate various learning abilities you ll keep detailed records of student achievements and needs contributing to their educational journey.

Position Summary :
- Prepare and implement the instructional process for students with IEPs
- Deliver instruction through the use of curriculum materials and educational software
- Develop daily lesson plans and classroom schedules that reflect state and school requirements
- Implement standards for student behavior to ensure a safe secure and effective learning environment by providing a high degree of structure clear expectations and consistency
Requirements
Licensure : Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.
Education : Bachelors degree in Special Education Education or a related field; a Masters degree is preferred.
Professional Growth : Commitment to ongoing professional development in special education practices and standards.
Experience : Prior experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom or similar setting is strongly preferred.

- Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Strong ability to collaborate with educators families and support staff.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to student needs.
