Director of Operations - Subcontracting Services

With over 130 employees, we have an award-winning team and culture with high growth! We are currently seeking a highly qualified, energetic operations leader of strong character to join our growing team.

Our Director of Operations Subcontracting Services will be responsible for improving the snow subcontracting infrastructure, processes, and systems throughout the company.

They are accountable for all aspects of the subcontracting department and will be a key member of the executive team, reporting directly to the COO.

Our Director of Operations will improve and strengthen the foundations of the department, prepare the business for upcoming phases of growth and scale, and drive change throughout the organization.

They will foster relationships, earn trust and respect across all levels of the company. The goal for our Director of Operations will be to deliver the highest quality services, while being focused on productivity and profitability.

Requirements our Director of Operations- Subcontracting Services, Landscaping & Snow Removal :

• 5+ years of experience in a similar management and leadership role in the service industry;
• Experience with contracting : sourcing, compliance and managing subcontractors;
• Strong understanding of P&Ls, job costing and budgeting;
• Strong leadership, negotiating & influence skills;
• Adaptable to change and enjoy work that frequently shifts direction;
• Goal oriented and thrives in high-pressure working environments;
• Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office suite and an overall comfortability with technology is required;
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record;

Preferred Qualifications :

• A degree in landscaping, business management or a related field;
• Certified snow professional or equivalent or previous snow and ice removal experience;
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams.

Key Responsibilities for our Director of Operations- Subcontracting Services, Landscaping & Snow Removal :

• Managing and leading the contracting department including developing relationships with customers and vendors and ensuring the highest possible field productivity;
• Developing all pre, post, and in-season operations plans for your department;
• Ownership of recruitment, hiring, and personnel strategy across division;
• Providing high-level interaction with clients, vendors, and subcontractors;
• Develop and strengthen processes, procedures, and systems across all areas of production;
• Implement operational strategy and improve the consistency of the customer experience and quality of service;
• Identify areas that need improvement and areas to create efficiencies;
• Build and implement training programs;
• Ensuring that job budgets, profitability and gross profit targets are achieved;
• Ensuring customer satisfaction with services rendered;
• Providing a support role to snow operations during the winter months;
• Other duties as assigned.
