Minimum qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ML, or Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 20 years of professional experience in Research or 18 years with an advanced degree.
- Experience running a multidisciplinary research organization, including as a manager of managers.
Preferred qualifications :
- Publication record in AI technologies, machine learning, data science, human-computer interaction, or related fields.
- Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations at global scale and reach.
- Experience at the intersection of human-computer interaction and Responsible AI.
- Familiarity building and maintaining external and internal partnerships to ensure alignment with the Responsible AI strategy.

As Senior Director, Research, AI / ML, you will be tasked with setting the research agenda for Responsible / Ethical AI and managing several research and engineering teams.
You will use expertise in human computer interaction and / or responsible AI research.

Responsibilities
- Define agenda and guide implementation for the Socio-technical Research, Core ML for RAI, and Community Based Participation as part of Google's overall Responsible AI and Human Centered Technology efforts.
- Drive the Socio-technical Core ML for RAI research efforts both internally and externally, building trust in the brand while pushing forward the research frontier.
- Serve as expert in Socio-technical Field and researcher who is sought after for advice, consultation for organization-wide efforts and as well as personal research contributions.
- Lead multiple cross-functional and diverse research and engineering teams within the Responsible AI portfolio.
