Responsibilities

• Design, develop, build, and maintain large-scale backend software systems that enhance privacy across various TikTok applications / platforms.
• Write documentation, coding, and work cross-functionally to plan on how to deliver the latest features on the platforms to improve the privacy of our products in the platforms.
• Work with engineering and product teams to ensure that TikTok is compliant with privacy laws and regulations from a technical perspective.
• Respond to Privacy incidents, if they occur, including collecting information on scope and root cause as well as managing remediation.
• Improve system design and architecture to ensure high stability, performance, and reliability of the product.
• Leverage all of TikTok's existing privacy frameworks and be a part of team designing and implementing new techniques and foundation work that can further improve privacy.
• Assist the team in defining A / B testing frameworks to measure and improve privacy.
• Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality work in rapid product development.
• Mentor junior software engineers and interns.

Qualifications

Must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience;

OR a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, and 4 years

of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following :

• Designing and implementing large-scale, distributed online software services using programming language Java, Go, JavaScript, Ruby, or Python;
• Designing and implementing User Interfaces and scripts to automate common flows using HTML, JavaScript, Python, or Ruby;
• Maintaining and debugging software services;
• Designing and implementing software service architecture to support high throughput and fault tolerant services;
• Designing and managing databases to support online services using MySQL or Redis; and
• Applying Network protocols and using Unix / Linux operating system.

Type : Full time, 40 hours / week

Location : Bellevue, WA

Salary Range : $184300 - $340000 per year
