The salary for this position is $65,000-$75,000 annually
This position requires you to work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum between the ages are 5-21 years old.
The hours at the school are from 8 : 00am - 3 : 30pm Monday-Friday
Job Summary & Responsibilities
QSAC is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to work with children and young adults. This opportunity is located at our Whitestone Day School.
The OT will follow a treatment plan / IEP goals developed to improve, develop, restore, or maintain opportunities for active participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure, and play for the students we support.
OT’s will also provide education and training to Occupational Therapy Assistants.
Responsibilities
Treatment Plans & Supervision
- Direct service according to a written treatment plan / IEP that the OT develops
- Recommend modification of treatment approaches to reflect the student’s changing needs
- Develop appropriate plans for the students being supported
- OT’s will provide collaborative education and supervision services to promote best practices and professional growth to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Communication & Administration
- Communicates and interacts with other team members, school personnel, and families
- Develop and maintain a daily schedule, which includes sites, students / classrooms and other activities / duties
- Maintain and records accurate records and documentation
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, attendance, and flexibility, while working cooperatively with Supervisors and other employees
Qualifications and Work Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program required
- Current New York State OT license to practice required
- Experience working with people with autism highly preferred
- One to three years’ experience working as an OT in a related setting preferred
- Vaccination required
