Reports to : Senior Director of Member Services

Oversee : PTS Attendants

Department : Member Services

Location : The Village : 527 Crocker St. Los Angeles, CA 90013

Schedule : Sunday - Thursday, 1 : 00 pm - 9 : 00 pm

Status : Full-Time, Management, Exempt

Summary

The Public Facilities Manager will provide strong leadership to ensure The People Concern operates clean, safe and well maintained public facilities that meet industry and funding source standards.

This position is responsible for maintaining the highest quality services where program participants are provided the access to clean and safe facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Coordinate daily operation of Laundromat and Public Toilets and Showers to promote efficient use by Program Participants, customers and community

2. Supervise, coordinate, and / or aid in the timely completion of all repairs and cleaning of interior and exterior facility grounds

3. Develop and implement new systems to ensure Laundromat and Public Toilets and Showers run smoothly and effectively

4. Assist in the planning and implementation of hours of operation and work assignments

5. Perform preventive and maintenance routinely inspections of all equipment to determine needed repairs. Report all repairs in a timely manner to Facilities Director

6. Ensure assigned sites are maintained for the health and safety of staff and participants

7. Handle emergency situations as they arise

8. Responsible for ordering supplies and maintain inventory

9. Responsible for the removal of money from coin operated equipment

10. Coordinate and schedule revenue deposits with Finance Department

11. Maintain account in log book of all transactions made, recording showers and voucher use

12. Provide polite and professional customer service and assistance to the public

13. Listen to suggestions and complaints from facilities users. Report this information to the Director of Administration

14. Train and schedule assigned staff; ensure that safe procedures and work practice are followed at all times

15. Provide individual and team supervision, support, and performance evaluations for all assigned staff

16. Assist Operations management in the administration of various personnel actions, including but not limited to hiring, performance evaluations, terminations and vacation schedules.

17. Ensure adherence to all partner agency and other funding source contract and performance standards, along with all relevant laws, regulations, and agency accounting policies and procedures

18. In coordination with the Director of Administration, provide budgetary oversight and ensure revenue and expenses are within adopted annual budget

Qualifications

1. Minimum of three years' experience as a Maintenance supervisor in a commercial building

2. Some experience working with the homeless, preferably those living with mental illness and / or substance addictions

3. Two years' supervisory experience

4. Working knowledge of workplace safety and illness and injury prevention practices

5. High School Diploma or equivalent

6. Current, valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record

7. Strong interpersonal and team building skills

8. Self-starter able to stay ahead of the curve and thrive in fast-paced work environment

9. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work independently and creatively

Work Environment

1. Primarily business environment; regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.

2. May necessitate working in busy and loud environments

3. May be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor

4. May need to bend, stoop, twist and sit throughout the day

5. On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
