The Role

We’re looking for a well-rounded, web-first graphic designer who has a keen interest and skillset in website design but also has the ability to create logos, social media graphics, display ads and more.

If you’re proficient in CSS and HTML, and thrive in Wordpress, you’ve got a leg up.

If you’ve got strong feelings about different typefaces; struggle when someone asks you what your favorite color is because there’s so many of them;

always watching YouTube vids and TikToks about graphic and web design; or otherwise have a passion for turning designs into live work, you’ve got a spot here.

If you also have a never-ceasing curiosity and a drive to improve, this is going to be the place for you.

What You’ll Do

• Designing high-fidelity website wireframe mockups for Wordpress in Adobe XD, with a mobile-first mentality and an ever-growing knowledge of SEO.
• Listening to the Creative Director wax poetic about typefaces and CSS.
• Completing tasks within set deadlines in order to move projects forward.
• Maintaining a high level of knowledge and skill sets with marketing, graphic design, and the software used day to day.
• Creating image libraries based on keywords.
• Designing other digital design elements such as logos, social media graphics, print materials, trade show assets and more.
• Understanding, implementing, and maintaining best practices with regards to SEO, PPC and how they relate to website design.
• Thriving in our fast-paced and demanding work environment.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

Ideal Qualifications

• Either a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or 1-3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Top-notch written and verbal communication skills.
• An extraordinary portfolio of work that showcases their modern design sensibilities in a variety of mediums, with heavy emphasis on interactive and web design.
• Experience using and designing for Wordpress.
• Understands the basics of digital marketing and how to use design to sell to people.
• The ability to multi-task, stay organized, and be flexible.
• The ability to take feedback and actualize it into better work.
• The willingness to do a skills assessment test as part of the interview process.

Nice to Have

• Is kind, thoughtful, thorough, and empathetic.
• Has a never-ending thirst for knowledge and learning new stuff.
• Is fluent in HTML and CSS.
• Has used Wordpress page builders like Elementor, Divi or WPBakery.
• Cares a lot about responsiveness and accessibility.
• Has an acute attention to detail and impeccable communication skills.
• Understands user interface and user experience principles.
• Has working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Adobe XD.
• Is comfy producing in a fully-remote macOS environment.
• Can work independently and as a part of a team.
• Is willing to teach others and is willing to learn from others.
• Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
