LHH is collaborating with a reputable company in Downtown Fort Worth, TX, to find a dedicated and experienced a Payroll Specialist for a contract-to-hire position.
This role offers a competitive salary of $50,000-52,000 annually. The ideal candidate will have strong multi-state payroll experience, including accounts payable and receivables experience.
Experience with Paylocity is required.

Job Duties / Essential Functions
Payroll Processing : Prepare and process weekly payroll for all employees, including salaried and hourly workers.
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses. Verify timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain payroll records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Ensure timely processing of expense reimbursements.
Compliance and Reporting : Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Ensure payroll tax filings and payments are processed and submitted by the 3rd party payroll service provider. Ensure annual W-2 forms are prepared and distributed by the 3rd party payroll service provider.
Generate and distribute regular payroll reports as directed.
Employee Support : Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, benefits, and expenses. Provide support and training to employees on the use of the payroll system.
Address and resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies promptly.
System Maintenance and Improvement : Maintain and update the payroll system with relevant information. Collaborate with HR and IT to implement and test system upgrades and enhancements.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
Other Duties : Assist with audits of internal payroll records and reports. Support the Accounting department with month-end and year-end closing activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller.
Education, Certifications, Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in payroll processing and administration.
Basic understanding of accounting fundamentals required.
Strong knowledge of payroll calculations, processes, tax regulations, and employment laws.
Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal rules and laws.
Proficient in payroll software and systems and MS Office (specifically Excel).
