The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid, 10-week experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers meaningful work experience at non-profits all over the country tackling some of our nation's most pressing challenges .

Throughout your internship with a partner organization, Stand Together Fellowships hosts virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 1-5 pm ET, wherein you will be mentored by seasoned professionals as you craft a capstone project on the topic that matters most to you.

Interns will receive either a $5,500 or $3,300 stipend from Stand Together Fellowships depending on whether they are participating full-time (40 hours / week) or part-time (28 hours / week).

Successful candidates will interview with both our non-profit partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, so we strongly encourage you to apply in advance!

Young Americans for Liberty Foundation is the most active and effective pro-liberty youth organization advancing liberty on campus.

Our four-step mission is to identify, educate, train, and mobilize youth activists to make liberty win.

The Campus Policy Research Intern will assist in policy research for the Student Rights Campaign (SRC) by identifying policies on college campuses that are not representative of classical liberal values.

They will work alongside student leaders to change these policies on college campuses, providing a civic education through active learning.

Reporting directly to the Program Director, the Campus Policy Research Intern will guide chapters in implementing strategic advocacy efforts and sustaining their activities, ensuring long-term impact on student rights.

Unlike traditional field staff, the Campus Policy Research Intern will not be physically present on campuses but will support chapters remotely through research, training, strategic planning, and regular communication.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and activate petition lists to mobilize support.
  • Conduct thorough research on school policies and student challenges to inform advocacy strategies.
  • Ensure an optimal environment in state law for policy change.
  • Study, develop, and evolve current ideal policies for campus environments.
  • Establish and support student-led chapters at targeted schools with harmful policies through remote guidance.
  • Recruit and train student leaders on Civic Action via virtual sessions.
  • Equip chapters with the necessary skills and knowledge to advocate for policy change.
  • Build and maintain relationships with student activists, faculty, and administrative bodies through virtual engagement.
  • Engage with campus communities remotely to invigorate campus around policy change.
  • Track the progress of campaigns, evaluate their impact, and ensure alignment with SRC goals.
  • Provide regular reports on the successes and challenges of each chapter.

Expectations

  • Ensure the timely collection and delivery of petitions.
  • Continuously refine advocacy strategies based on research and feedback.
  • Monitor the progress of chapter campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Ensure effective recruitment and remote training of chapter leadership.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for each chapter's advocacy efforts.
  • Build sustainable chapter models that continue to impact campus policies over time.
  • Ensure strong, ongoing virtual engagement with activists across campuses.
  • Foster collaboration between student leaders and faculty to strengthen advocacy efforts.
  • Submit detailed reports on campaign outcomes.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve chapter effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Experience in grassroots advocacy or political organizing.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple remote projects.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in policy research and a willingness to learn state law
