Job Description
- BryceTech has an immediate opening for a senior cloud architect who will support development, acquisition, execution and management of the SDA’s government-owned, contractor-operated cloud environments;
- develop government reference cloud architectures and cost estimates to support the SDA’s Cloud Center of Excellence initiatives;
serves as the primary cloud SME. This is a hybrid role and the candidate can be near Washington D.C., Denver, CO, or Los Angeles, CA.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience :
- Develop and perform analysis of business and technical requirements to assess, design, and develop cloud-based architecture
- Develop and maintain metadata systems to enhance data governance and quality
- Develop multi-cloud C2E solutions (AWS, Azure, OCI, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud)
- Design and implement a data fabric architecture to integrate data across multiple systems
- Develop architecture to support multiple software platforms (i.e., Kubernetes; Openshift)
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and can thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong communication skills with the willingness to collaborate with cross-functional departments and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, software application, and design
- Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, applications, and trends
- Experience using Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, or other major cloud computing services
- Strong cloud migration and data management skills with an emphasis on data privacy and security
Individuals will support various engineering, scientific, analysis, policy, planning, and program management of Defense space activities.
Specific tasks may include :
- Design, build, and test cloud architecture to ensure large amounts of data can be transferred and stored efficiently.
- Maintain information accuracy and security while initiating bulk data transfers.
- Vet cloud providers and third-party services that provide high-quality storage options within budget.
- Create data transfer and storage standard operating procedures and policy documentation while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Keep up to date with developments on current cloud computing solutions and processes.
- Provide guidance to cross-functional teams on using and accessing data on the cloud, especially during major transfer, updates, or changes.
- Provide technical advice / input to customer’s System Program Director that lays the strategic foundation for critical, national capability and customer’s future initiatives.
- Understand and contribute to cloud designs and technical approaches to guide next generation cloud architecture to be resilient systems for space and ground-based communications systems.
- Develop enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface requirements.
- Coordinate and perform source selection activities.
- Assess changes and updates to ground systems to enable overall architecture capabilities.
- Coordinate with modeling and simulation teams to assess impacts to the architecture.
- Review engineering documents and provide subject matter expert (SME) support.
- Participate in SRR, PDR, CDR type activities.
- Support the SDA’s Program Management and Systems Engineering team.
- Resolve highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project / program.
- Incorporate Joint Warfighter, Mission Partners and internal SDA team’s feedback and input on product strategy and identify the best path to improve efficiencies.
- Support application product managers and coordinate cross-functional teams (i.e. Government, Military, SETA, FFRDC, UARC, & Industry).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering and / or math
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a cloud architect or similar role
- Relevant industry certifications, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
- Experience architecting security solutions for multiple security domains and with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO, CIS SOC 2, etc.)
- Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), Authority to Operate (ATO) and continuous ATO processes
- Experience in landing zones, guard rails, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- TS / SCI Eligible
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in science, technology, engineering and math
- Desired Years of Experience : 10+ with cloud infrastructure, software application, and design
- Experience DoD and or IC customers
- Current experience with space systems
