Role Overview

As a Licensed Caregiver , you are delegated the authority, responsibility, and accountability for carrying out your assigned duties.

Key Responsibilities :

  • To know and follow the clients’ service plans which may include but is not limited to :

Perform or assist clients with supportive, comfort measures.

  • Prepare meals, snacks and provide fluids.
  • Perform essential household services to support clients remaining at home.
  • Provide companionship and maintain a warm, positive, and calm atmosphere.
  • Shop and perform errands as requested.
  • Provide transportation to appointments as requested.
  • Treat all clients fairly, with kindness, dignity, and respect, including respecting privacy and confidentiality.
  • Adhere to all established safety procedures (including fire safety) in the performance of all duties. This includes using only trained equipment in a safe manner and reporting all accidents and injuries (to self or clients) to the agency director.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and attractive client environment, adhering to all infection control and standard precaution practices.
  • Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the agency.
  • Thoroughly complete and submit all required documentation (e.g., records, time sheets, service plans) in a timely manner.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled orientation, in-service training, and educational classes.
  • Notify the agency of lateness at least two hours before the assigned visit.
  • Notify the agency of unexpected absence at least three days before the assigned visit.
  • Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and DiscoverU Health core values when observing and performing assigned tasks.

    • Requirements :

  • A valid driver's license.
  • Active CNA or CMT license in D.C. , Maryland , or Virginia .
  • Demonstrate the patience, tact, and willingness to work harmoniously with staff, clients, family members, visitors, and the general public, including those who may be difficult.
  • Be able to relate information concerning a client's medical condition.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of client information.
  • Pass a criminal background check and all other pre-employment screening requirements.
