Job Description
This position is responsible for maintaining the facilities production equipment, systems and ensuring the smooth and efficient
utilization and operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment. As a Maintenance team member, you will perform various types
of work to achieve production safety, quality, cost and operational efficiencies including trouble shooting, preventative maintenance,
electrical systems, and operator interface terminals for packaging manufacturing facility. Repairs and troubleshoots equipment. May
also be involved in inspecting, installing and testing new equipment
Major Responsibilities :
The job responsibilities of this position listed below are on-going throughout the workday, given multiple orders
can be run in one shift.
Service, troubleshoot, and repair industrial components such as motors, variable AC drives, PLCs, servos, sensors,
and switches.
Service, troubleshoot, and repair industrial pneumatic system components such as pumps, valves, cylinders,
motors, and solenoids.
- Maintain required repair and work logs.
- Keep up-to-date machinery history reports to include : repairs, parts exchanges, modifications, any results found
through troubleshooting, etc.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and
service.
- Achieve targeted performance standards on equipment by achieving reduced equipment downtime.
- Prioritize repairs to meet efficiencies and the needs of the manufacturing plant.
- Provide routine preventative maintenance as scheduled on equipment and work with production personnel to
maintain and improve quality.
- Perform some fabrication.
- Work with Production personnel to maintain and improve quality.
- May perform facility maintenance work as needed.
- Adhere to all facets of safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Follows and adheres to local, state, and federal OSHA safety and health guidelines.
Requires strong electrical and mechanical knowledge and capabilities.
- Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC knowledge.
- Must be detail oriented and possess a working knowledge of industry specific information.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Abillity to read equipment manuals and follow sequence of repairs outlined by the manufacturer.
- Hands on experience with specialty tools and mechanical repairs
Required Education :
5 years of maintenance experience required
- Must be able to work any required schedule needed for the facility needs.
- Working knowledge of electrical, electronic controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, cutting, welding, fabrication, and
tooling
- Must be able to read and follow blueprints and schematics
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment in all the above-mentioned areas
- Computer literacy with the ability to learn new computer software programs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Heavy lifting may be required. Ability to lift and carry over 50 pounds alone, up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) a plus
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required; to use hands to handle, or feel;
reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend kneel, crouch
or crawl; lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
