The Student Involvement Center at Saint Louis University is seeking a Program Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life.

This position would report to the Assistant Director, Student Involvement. The Coordinator will support the advising, education and development for SLUs undergraduate affiliated community, which is approximately 15-20% of the total undergraduate enrollment.

SLU currently recognizes organizations from the North American Interfraternity Conference, the National Panhellenic Conference, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the National APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) Panhellenic Association.

SLU currently provides an on-campus community living experience for most second-year members of NIC and NPC organizations called DeMattias Hall.

This position will serve as a member of the Universitys FSL advising team, with additional advising and oversight support being provided by the Assistant Director, and an additional graduate assistant.

JOB SUMMARY Under general direction, provides leadership and guidance for elements of the Fraternity and Sorority community experience at Saint Louis University, including serving as a University advisor for FSL programs.

  • This includes but is not limited to advising formal / informal recruitment and intake processes for Fraternities and Sororities;
  • sharing advising responsibilities for all of SLUs councils (including Interfraternity, Panhellenic, National Pan-Hellenic, and APIDA);

providing educational programs, training, and leadership development for members of the FSL community; and serving as a liaison with both alumni / ae members and Inter / National Headquarter Offices.

The Coordinator also serves as an active and engaged member of the Student Involvement Center team, working in collaboration with valued campus partners from Housing & Residence Life, the Office of Student Responsibility and Community Standards, Event Services, Campus Recreation & Wellness, and more.

The Coordinator may also supervise one graduate assistant. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Provides advising support and guidance for SLUs Fraternity and Sorority organizations and councils.

This includes individual chapter leadership meetings, council meetings, formal / informal recruitment and intake, and communication with FSL stakeholders and constituents.

Provides educational programs and leadership development opportunities for members of the FSL community including, but not limited to : GOLD (Greek Officer Leader Development) Retreat, campus speakers, special workshops, leadership-in-action experiences, and intentional programs facilitated as part of the on-campus FSL living community.

Supervises one graduate assistant who provides additional support for the FSL community, in addition to providing support and mentoring for all student leadership positions within the Student Involvement Center.

Assists with greater departmental programming efforts and initiatives for the campus community including but not limited to Fall & Winter Welcome, student organization leadership trainings, wellness, and well-being programs.

Establishes ongoing collaborative relationships with partners in both academic and student development areas; serves on various campus-wide committees.

Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge and understanding of the Fraternity / Sorority experience, including multicultural and identity-based organizations and councils Understanding of current issues facing FSL populations on college campuses Interpersonal / human relations skills Supervisory skills Verbal and written communication skills Planning / organization skills Demonstrated experience with student program development, organization, implementation and evaluation Ability to develop rapport with students Ability to work with a diverse population Ability to maintain confidential information Ability to operate a personal computer and various software packages Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Attention to detail Ability to work a flexible schedule MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors required, Masters in Higher Education or related field strongly preferred.
