Location : Machias, ME
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with Labor & Delivery experience to join our partner hospital in Machias, ME.
This travel assignment offers a unique opportunity to provide essential care to expectant mothers and their newborns in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities :
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based nursing interventions.
- Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs, recognizing and responding to potential complications.
- Assist with deliveries, including vaginal and cesarean births.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, including obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care.
Qualifications :
- Active RN license in the state of Maine or a compact state license.
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience preferred.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
- BLS / BCLS certification.
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work 12-hour day shifts. Schedule :
