NO HOLIDAY TIME OFF FOR CRISIS NEED

• of L&D Beds : 15 total- 7 L&D, 8 Postpartum
• of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections : 1
• of Births per day? Month? Year? : 58 per month
• Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios? : 1 : 1 for pit, mag, or insulin drips. 1 : 3 couplet care.
• Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Mix. Mainly obstetric / neonates, hypertension, GDM, try not to deliver anyone less than 36 weeks
• Experience or 'Must have' skills : able to read and interpret fetal strips, critical thinking, follow quality metrics, previous travel experience, must be able to read strips - will float to Medsurg & ER as needed
• Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes
• Common titratable & / or set rate drips : pitocin, insulin, magnesium
• Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? : Yes
• Does the charge nurse on shift take an assignment? : yes
• Are there nurse aids / surgical techs on this unit? Duties? : yes, CNA, vitals, help with transfer paperwork, remain at desk when needed due to being a locked unit, help turn, ambulate patients
• OB / Neonatologist in house 24 / 7? : no
• Anesthesia in house 24 / 7? : no
• RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) : yes
• Are RNs required to do anything with RT Equipment besides trouble shoot? : no
• Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? : no
• Are RNs required to read their own strips? : yes
• What brand are the tele monitors? : philips

• Scrub Color / Dress code : scrub color is maroon, scrubs are provided and RN will change once on the unit into our surgical scrubs
