Description :

The Wildlife Service Technician is responsible for providing wildlife control services to residential and commercial customers, ensuring safety, professionalism, and high-quality work.

This role includes conducting property inspections, exclusion and repair work, safely handling wildlife, and resolving various wildlife-related issues.

The position requires working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and involves using power tools and ladders.

Technicians must possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently and efficiently.

Essential Job Functions :

1. Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial properties to assess wildlife activity and potential entry points.

2. Diagnose and determine appropriate wildlife control strategies based on the type of animal, damage caused, and customer needs.

3. Implement humane wildlife control techniques, including safe capture, removal and at times termination of nuisance animals.

4. Utilize traps and other wildlife control equipment to capture and relocate animals, ensuring compliance with local wildlife laws and regulations.

5. Perform exclusion work by sealing entry points to prevent wildlife from re-entering properties. This includes minor carpentry and repair tasks such as installing screens, sealing gaps, and repairing damaged areas.

6. Use ladders to access rooftops and hard-to-reach areas, ensuring proper installation of exclusion materials.

7. Safely operate power tools such as drills, saws, and other equipment to complete exclusion work efficiently and effectively.

8. Meet with customers to assess their wildlife issues, explain the services to be provided, and answer any questions or concerns they may have.

9. Provide clear communication and set proper expectations regarding the wildlife control process and timeline.

10. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with customers on-site, ensuring customer satisfaction.

11. Obtain and maintain required state wildlife certifications to ensure legal compliance in all services provided.

12. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding wildlife control, safety procedures, and environmental protections.

13. Accurately document customer interactions, services performed, and materials used for each job.

14. Maintain clear, up-to-date records in company systems, ensuring accurate billing and service history tracking.

15. Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or wildlife control challenges to management in a timely manner.

16. Work closely with the Wildlife Supervisor and other technicians to share knowledge and best practices.

17. Assist other team members as needed on larger or more complex wildlife control projects.

18. Ensure consistent communication with the office staff and management to keep everyone informed of job status and any changes.

19. Maintain company-provided vehicle in clean and proper working order, ensuring it is stocked with necessary tools and materials for wildlife control.

20. Perform routine checks and maintenance of wildlife control equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.

21. Support other areas of the business as needed, including cross-training in other pest control services.

22. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices and industry regulations.

Requirements :

1. Must be at least 18 years of age.

2. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

3. High school diploma or equivalent.

4. At least 2+ years of experience in carpentry, construction, or a related field.

5. Experience working with ladders and on rooftops is a plus.

6. Pre-employment background check required.

7. Hunting experience or familiarity with wildlife handling is required.

Physical Requirements :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, kneel, and crawl within tight spaces.

Specific hearing and vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Technicians must be comfortable using ladders up to 40 feet tall and operating power tools such as drills and saws independently.

Additional role related tasks may be added to ensure HR alignment with business needs with / without notice, per HR Directors discretion
