Summary
JOB SUMMARY :
The RN provides nursing care to patients in compliance with the Maryland Nurse Practice Act, Standards of Practice and defined by ANA, ENA, BSBHS, and organization protocols, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Develops, implements, evaluates and revises plan of care based on physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient / family.
Assesses patient for changes that may hinder recovery. Collaborates with staff, physicians, and other disciplines to provide quality care delivery.
Maintains clinical knowledge and skills competency to facilitate patient care in accordance with current standards of practice.
Provides for a safe patient care environment.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
- Current RN licensure with Maryland Board of Nursing or Compact State, if resident of that state).
- Minimum 2 years Nursing Experience specific to Emergency Services or 3-5 years of other acute care experience preferred.
- BLS required.
- ACLS within 6 months of hire.
- PALS and Hazmat within one year of hire.
- Certification in Emergency Nursing Preferred.
- Completes orientation according to policy / procedures.
UNIT DETAILS :
The new Emergency Department at Grace Medical Center features 17, square feet of state-of-the-art design with technology and amenities for emergency care.
Patients and visitors will immediately see a larger, brighter space with a comfortable waiting room. Twenty-nine spacious, well-lit private treatment rooms are appointed throughout the space, with the providers’ station positioned front and center.
Here, physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and other clinicians will collaborate to provide a personalized plan of care for each patient.
Negative pressure rooms are located in the department, for isolation of infectious diseases such as COVID-19. The new Emergency Department also includes a behavioral health treatment pod for patients in psychiatric or behavioral health crisis.
The latest edition CT Scanner to help with early diagnosis of conditions such as strokes and impending heart attacks is located within the department.
