The Strategic Business Initiatives (SBI) team is a key consulting, business development and advisory function within the Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG).
We advise on and shape high-priority, high-impact projects, focused on the Southern California market. Our portfolio of work includes new business ventures, market diligence, and strategic care delivery initiatives, aimed at evolving our care delivery model to meet the changing needs of our members, providers and the marketplace.
Job Summary :
Serves as a lead consultant to ensure the alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse stakeholders to drive the implementation of strategic business initiatives and projects / programs across multiple functional tracks or workstreams.
Drives business strategy, organizational alignment, and prioritization of business initiatives. Leads the work of project / program team members.
Provides expertise and drives the development and implementation of business initiatives, systems, and / or processes to a desired future state.
Manages complex, cross-functional projects / programs, and serves as an expert in the proactive monitoring and identification of client, project, program, and / or business risks.
Designs, leads, and serves as an expert for change management plans associated with business initiatives. Leads assessment of strategic performance metrics to support business initiatives.
Participates in vendor management as required. Monitors compliance of work activities by ensuring business plans and team members adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Promotes learning in others by communicating information and providing advice to drive projects forward; builds relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Conducts or oversees business-specific projects by applying deep expertise in subject area; promotes adherence to all procedures and policies.
- Serves as a lead consultant to ensure the alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse stakeholders.
- Drives business strategy, organizational alignment, and prioritization of business initiatives.
- Leads the work of project / program team members.
- Develops requirements, or leads a team of consultants in the development of requirements.
- Provides expertise and drives the development and implementation of business initiatives.
- Manages complex, cross-functional projects and / or programs.
- Serves as an expert in the proactive monitoring and identification of client, project, program, and / or business risks.
- Designs, leads, and serves as an expert for change management plans.
- Leads the assessment of strategic performance metrics to support business initiatives.
- Serves as a lead advocate for continuous learning and professional development.
- Participates in vendor management as required.
- Monitors compliance of work activities by ensuring business plans and team members adhere to KP, departmental, and / or business line policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Minimum two (2) years experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and Minimum eight (8) years experience in consulting, project management, data analytics, operations or a directly related field OR Masters degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Health Services Administration, or related field and Minimum six (6) years experience in consulting, project management, data analytics, operations or a directly related field OR Minimum eleven (11) years experience in consulting, project management, data analytics, operations or a directly related field.

Preferred Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Health Services Administration, or related field.
- Three (3) years facilitating meetings with work teams or management.
- Two (2) years healthcare experience.
- Three (3) years data analytics experience.
- Five (5) years experience consulting in a strategic capacity on highly complex or highly visible projects, programs, or initiatives.
- Five (5) years experience working for an external consulting firm.
- Three (3) years experience delivering presentations to senior management.
