Department Summary :
We are currently seeking a Cleared Software Engineer to join the Cross-cutting Urgent Innovation Cell (CUIC), an organization that is unique to MITRE because :

Roles & Responsibilities :
- Work on a team with other software engineers, business operations, and modeling&simulation staff to maintain and improve a virtual environment
- Create and present deliverables to government sponsor(s) and MITRE leadership
- Maintain and organize a software Bill of Materials for a virtual environment and ensure it meets MITRE and sponsor requirements.
- Coordinate and communicate with users, to include access control, environment needs, and requests.
- Track licensed products within virtual environment, to include usage and logistics
- Communicate updates (e.g. outages, patch windows) to environment users and operating team
- Ideate and architect shared software deployment strategies with lead software engineers
Basic Qualifications :
- Active TS / SCI clearance.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree;
or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Experience developing in linux / unix operating systems.
- Experience with software engineering concepts such as development, debugging, git, code reviews, continuous integration, and testing.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and capable of working in a cross-functional environment that includes engineers, scientists, data analysts, and technical software developers.
- Experience with container technologies / DevSecOps (e.g. Docker, Singularity)
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Experience in cloud compute environments (e.g. Azure, AWS)
- This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with container orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Bachelors and / or Masters degree focus in computer science, engineering, or artificial intelligence and related work experience
- Experience developing in Python
- Experience in developing / coding in high-side environment(s) (e.g. JWICS)
- Security+ training or an equivalent IAT Level II certification
