Job Description :
- Perform a variety of mammographic procedures with independent judgment to provide quality patient care.
- Operate a variety of radiographic and support equipment, including mammographic, ultrasound, stereotactic breast biopsy machines, and mobile radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
- Protect patients from undue exposure to radiation, using lead shields and various safety factors.
- Select proper film size, collimate, and position equipment at proper distance and angle to patient's body for clear, diagnostic radiographs.
- Assist radiologists in performing a variety of fluoroscopic procedures, preparing and administering appropriate media, and positioning patients.
- Responsible for maintenance of mammography equipment and components, ensuring supplies are available for screenings, diagnostics, and surgical procedures.
- Identify abnormal anatomy and pathologic processes for appropriate procedure assessment.
- Maintain Quality Control / Quality Assurance following MQSA programs and ACR, FDA, and TDH standards, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Demonstrate competence in patient care responsibilities, accommodating unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, and developmental needs.
