About The Position

Weekly Pay # Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) at Golden Years Center, Harrisonville, MO

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments and physician orders.
  • Provide direct therapy to improve communication, cognitive-linguistic function, and swallowing safety.
  • Conduct and interpret swallow assessments and recommend diet modifications as needed.
  • Document all evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulations.
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy plans, communication strategies, and safe swallowing techniques.
  • Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings for resident-centered care.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on resident progress and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with professional, legal, and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise Clinical Fellows (CFYs) and / or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) as required.
  • Work collaboratively within a skilled nursing / long-term care environment, often with residents who have complex medical needs.
  • Maintain strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills to support optimal resident outcomes.
